About Us

Camtix Web Video Publisher (formerly Videoaddon.com) was created by four Internet enthusiasts that were tired of surfing the Internet and primarily coming across mundane text. We set out with the idea of making video the standard on the Internet, however for that to happen we realized that it had to be easy and inexpensive for people to share their visual message.

There were a couple of problems that we noticed with Internet video. First, there were many different video formats being produced and each format required a different player and sometimes special codecs (a codec is a little translator program that lets the video player software understand how to display the video). The software all had to be downloaded and configured. This meant that if you were trying to look at someone's video and you didn't have the correct video program or codec you would have to go and download the required program. We found this was too much of a bother and there was some good video content that we were missing out on viewing.

The second major problem we found was that creating a video for your webpage was very time consuming and complicated. You had to buy encoding software, learn how to use it and then learn how to link the video to your website. Both of these problems were addressed by the creation of our simple to use web based browser system called Videoaddon.com. Videoaddon.com allowed a user to record video using only your web cam or upload video in just about any format. Then the video could be converted to a web ready version that plays back using Macromedia's Flash Plug-in, which is already on 98% of computers that access the Internet. The system also provided all the linking information that was needed to publish a video to any Internet platform.

Videoaddon.com was a great success! We had managed to spark the Internet video revolution by providing services to a vast array of Internet consumers, including video bloggers, Internet marketers, eBay sellers, celebrities, and companies of all sizes.

As the awareness and popularity of Internet video grew we realized that consumers were looking for a video publishing solution that gave them total control. We took what we had learned while operating Videoaddon.com, as well as the feedback that was gathered from our customers to create the ultimate video publishing tool
